Makeup tips for summer 2016

Keep makeup in place and prevent shine in humidity -
Pressing “Invisible Veil” loose powder, using palms of hands, on top of the Base will set it and create a natural, long-lasting result and prevent over-application/floury finish.

Summer wise-buys -
It’s wiser to invest in a medium-coverage liquid Base that can adapt to skin’s needs, e.g.: on days when you want a sheer finish, add a drop of moisturiser to it to dilute the formula and apply with dampened fingers then use the product, undiluted, on areas such as high-colour or dark circles where you’ll need a little extra help. Apply concealer on top of any area when even more coverage is needed. Another wise buy is also my highly adaptive Watercolour liquid blush as it can be applied to lips and eyes as well. Applied under lipsticks, Watercolours are the perfect base for helping to lock lip colours in place.

Keep “Invisible Veil Blotting Powder” in your bag for touch-ups and apply when necessary to de-shine.

My “Long-lasting Eyeliner” pencils are 100% Waterproof and blend beautifully. No panda eyes guaranteed.

The Makeup Tan for Face -
My aim to achieving a true summer glow or looking sun-kissed is for the result to look as flattering as possible especially in day light. It’s all about creating a natural-looking tan that isn’t flat or monotone. Your complexion needs to look slightly reflective and fresh but not shimmery or glittery. You can apply special-effects, such as shimmer bronzers and highlighters, on top of a makeup tan but the first thing to do is apply a sheer to medium coverage Base which 2 shades darker than your own. Blend over face and neck and don’t forget to do ears and the back of your neck if you’re tying your hair up. Concealer also needs to be darker than your winter one so my “Invisible Radiance” foundation is just the thing as it already comes with the perfect concealer to match the Base.

Pop my “Invisible Veil” loose powder on top of Base (see above for application) then add deepen the colour with my “Instant Tan” pressed powder swept over cheekbones , forehead and neck, using my big ,fluffy “Kabeauti” brush. Pop a tiny bit on your nose too. Sweep whatever is left on the brush over lids to make eyes really pop.

Only apply glittery or shimmery formulas in the evening to add glamour. Highlight areas such as the highest part of the cheekbones and eye lids. Make sure they’re not too pale or they’ll contrast too much.

If you’re a fan of Contouring, apply the same way as in the winter but apply darker shades.

Top Tip -
If you’re applying Waterproof formulas avoid prepping skin with excessive use of skincare as it will make your makeup slide.

A delicate flush of colour will definitely enhance a tan so why not pop a wash of pink or peach Watercolour liquid blush onto cheeks. I don’t have rules as to which shade someone should go for, it’s personal choice and should tone in with your lipstick, but if you tend to have high-colour go for peach tones. If you prefer crème blush formulas, no problem, my Watercolour Crème Rouge formulas are also available and are great on eyes, and lips too.
