How annoying is it when you put your makeup on in the morning and it looks perfect and then after the work/school run rush the look you carefully applied starts to disappear by elevenses and by midday it’s gone completely. What you need are the right products and top tips to keep your “face in place” with long lasting makeup.

Let’s start at the very beginning with Retexturizing Face Primer SPF 20

As a makeup artist I swear by makeup primer, this is the key to creating a flawless, natural-looking fresh face is getting the basics right. Zone it onto clean, bare eye lids so eye shadows last longer then apply to lips before lipstick, pencil or gloss to lock in lip colour and give lips a smoother, younger finish. It’s colourless, weightless, light-reflecting oil-free serum gel with SPF 20

Make your look last longer with makeup tips from Daniel Sandler

My mantra is blend, blend, and blend! By blending you makeup properly you’ll not only do away with unsightly makeup lines, but it will also allow the products to bond with your skin to give you long lasting makeup. You can use makeup brushes to help with blending or fingers to blend around the chin and down your neck.

Buy products with staying power like my Watercolour fluid blusher and Velvet range of waterproof eyeliners, both have proven capabilities for taking you from day to play. Both will need a great makeup remover at the end of the day to remove but do remember if you use too many oily creams or serums in your beauty regime, these will quickly eat away at your makeup and you’ll have a makeup slide on your hands!

Use my face primer or a lip pencil on your lips before you apply your lipstick to help lock that colour in and help stop feathering. Then blot your lips with a tissue and reapply your lipstick and then re-blot and apply more lipstick, three layers should be enough to keep your lips looking gorgeous for ages.

Finally, set your look with a face powder, use my Invisible Veil Powder at home and keep my Invisible Blotting Powder in your bag for use during the day. Both products provide excellent oil control and helps to make your skin look more radiant, smooth and flawless, and helps to give an airbrushed finish to any makeup and with the Invisible Veil Powder you only need to use a small amount.
